The whole world, or at least very large bits of what gets discarded and causes pollution seems to be made there. In all probability you are possibly reading this on one of the bits that cause pollution and which was also probably made or assembled or done something with in China. I do not have anything against China or the Chinese. In fact, it is quite the contrary. I have something for the Chinese. In particular for those called Liu Yifei, Zhao Wei, Shu Qi, and at a more personal level Zhang Wenxuan.
Global warming? Blame the Chinese. On this count, I agree, because, barring those vegetarians and the chihuahua owners, very few seem to be heating up the world like the Chinese. Lack of jobs. Chinese. They are everywhere taking away our jobs. Robots. Chinese. they make them. Practically everything that seems to cause something wrong seems to have its root in China and the poor Chinese are blamed for everything, usually in a language most of them can even barely even being to dream of comprehending, which is precisely why they still go about doing exactly the same thing. All this shouting and bickering and whatever is happening in the rest of the world would make as much sense as computational calculus would to a beluga whale.
The whole issue is with responsibilty. Humans, historically speaking were never a race known for owning up. Businesses close down and then blame it on the economic slow down. No one so far has ever been able to explain as to why most of the people who have closed down their businesses are not on the streets, and are still puttering around down in darkended glasses that come attached with cars the size of planets and price tags the size of solar systems. The only people who complain about issues like these are people who can safely pin the blame on someone else without holding themselves responsibile. Viz. The Press.
The whole thing about passing the blame comes from a purely human attribute – ego. Most humans would feel terrible if someone called them stupid. They would feel murderous if someone called them stupid in front of an audience. What is far worse is that a humans internal organs would strike work and give up not only the ghost but also the father and the son if a human called oneself stupid. That is the power of ego. The result? If one is cheated it is because the other person is a swindler, mulcter, diddler and a nobbler and not because the cheated is an idiot. Why? It would hurt the ego.
The animal world cocks a snook at us in this respect. If an animal runs away with another animal’s kill, the second animal either has to kill again and protect its kill or simply starve. The same is the case with a litter, the strongest and the grabbiest end up looking the fattest and the cutest. Insofar as gathered from the National Geographic and Animal Planet, no animal has ever called another a cheat in any tongue, pink, blue or otherwise.
What worsens the problem is we blame all our inadequacies on being human. Allowing others to win, sharing food, donating money are all touted as a mark of being human rather than accepting that we do it for our own ego. There are those that disagree, but pray, can anyone tell me why there is a population explosion of only humans? Is it because the animals have decided to buy things to store water and then give them a firm shove with their feet? Mmmm.
We are running out of planet to live on, and we think that we have come so far by beating evolution and coming on top of the food chain. What we do not realise is that we have not so much beat evolution as it has clobbered us over the head by giving us a planet that we can run out of and making sure that we do, all the while enjoying our antics sitting in a corner with a smirk on its face. We are the evolutionary equivalent of the banana peel victim while evolution is the human equivalent of the kid that places the banana peel.
