Identity Crisis

by Teju on May 24, 2010

I must confess.

It was love at first sight.  I turned around and looked again. It was love.

I turned around and turned back, it was still love, the second time around too. After that point in the event horizon, when I ran into love, things never remained the same.  What was normal wasn’t anymore.

After that, either love turned into me, or love turned against me. While love was busy making the world go around in some parts while being simultaneously made in the others. I, in the meanwhile,  was busy with my day job of driving certain people, and the night job of a minute repeater – keeping people awake.

I had all the fun of running two shifts just for survival while love was having things done for it. This did not make things easy. Not for me, and not for people experiencing me.

As if this wasn’t enough, there was this problem of people taking about my love relationship. I do not want to be in it, heck, I do not know if I am in it at all.

I am bandied about so often that there are times which I lose my identity.  These are the times when people confuse me for my neighbour, and then there are the others when I am taken to be completely something else. These are also times when I tend to re-assert myself. These are times when I tell myself these words:

Without me, our love loses meaning.

Without me our love cannot keep the world turning.

Such  is my power, and…

(Imagine this in voice-over) …With great power comes great responsibility.

This is my gift, my curse.

Who am I?

I am Spiderman Hate (and I live next door to envy).

Reading #1 –

Someone is in love with love again!! {it might be mushy but sounds equally fascinating. i must finish reading it}
By the end of it…{Ooohh! Post ‘mein’ Twist.. This JUST got interesting. I must read it again}

Reading # 2 –

Aha! That was hate talking.

Wow – {So far, I thought I only enjoyed ‘death’ talking.} This was even superior.

Next reflection { is hate desperately in love with love ?? OR does hate entirely hates love ?? So much to imagine and I just cannot put an end to it :D }

PS: The voice-over did leave an impact, just like this post did ;)

PPS: I understand that this is wishful thinking and my query has already been answered in this post, but wouldn’t it be lovely if hate never found an identity?

Aaaah, hate never finding an identity? Interesting. I think you should actually start writing.

As for the post, it was inspired from someone asking me if I had an Identity Crisis (hence the title) and the last words of the Spider-Man movie. :D

Wriiitttnng and me ? I don’t see that happening. Not at least in the near future. It’s going to be a disaster and no superhero will be able to help out ;) Come on now, who knows it better than you.

But thank you for suggesting it. I will surely consider it the day my ‘thought-crisis’ finds its identity.

Keep getting inspired and writing such awesome posts :)

For clarification, I was talking about ‘love-hate’ relationship, when I talking about hate’s relationship with love.. :D
